The monthly comparisons of Total Lots, Bales and Weight tested for April 2023 compared with the same period last season are:
-3.0%, -3.5% and -3.6% respectively.
The progressive comparison of Total Lots, Bales and Weight tested for July 2022 to April 2023 compared with the same period last season are:
+1.8%, +2.0% and +1.9% respectively.
AWTA Ltd has tested 287.5 mkg (million kilograms) this season compared with 282.2 mkg for the equivalent period last season.

Australian Wool Production Forecast - April 2023 Update
The latest Australian Wool Production Forecasting Committee’s forecast of shorn wool production for season 2022/23 is 328 Mkg greasy, up 1.3% on 2021/22. Most key wool producing regions experienced a favourable summer season, a reasonable autumn and are heading into winter with a sufficient supply of feed.
The Committee’s first forecast of shorn wool production for the 2023/24 season is 332 Mkg greasy, a 1.4% increase on the current season. Sheep numbers are expected to remain relatively stable at 72.7 million, up 1.7%.
